The Bahrain Maintenance and Diving Services Co. is one of the leading providers of industrial diving, rigging and mechanical maintenance services in Bahrain. The company has grown to become the preferred choice for specialised work such as marine maintenance, hot tapping and oil spill. BMDS was established in the year 1976 by three partners, and was originally involved in providing professional diving services to large corporations such as Bahrain Petroleum Company. The company has since diversified into providing a variety of related services such as sludge handling, underwater marine maintenance, rigging, and underwater pipe-lining and steel fabrication.

BMDS is one of the few companies which has adopted Integrated Management System (IMS). To attain IMS, the Company has been certified with the following Management Systems:

• Quality Management System : ISO 9001:2008
• Occupational Health & Safety Management System: OHSAS 18001:2007
• Environmental Management System: ISO 14001 : 2004

Furthermore, the Company complies with the Health and Safety directives as well as Client special safety requirements. The Company places special emphasis on training its employees to do work in a safe manner. No work is done without proper Method Statement and Risk Assessment. The Company prepares annual training programme covering all aspects of the operation including HSE.
